Ok which one of the Grandma's taught Alaina to do this little trick??? I'm washing dishes and I turn around to find Alaina standing on the dishwasher door picking out a cup...

I also attached a video of Alaina walking down the hall.... Sorry not sure why it's sideways... I'll get a better one tomorrow! I think she has this walking thing down!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We've been busy the last two days celebrating the Mac Daddy's big 2-8! Last night we had dinner at Rudy's Redeye Grill with the other Mac's. Tonight we had dinner at home so daddy could be close to the TV to watch curling... After dinner we had cake and ice cream and Alaina really wanted daddy to give her a bite!! ... So did Maggie! I told her exactly one month from today she can dig into her very once slice of cake!! But, I think she might have enjoyed a bite or two when I wasn't in the room... there were a few drips of ice cream found on her chin a little later...Happy Birthday Daddy!

It's hard to believe that one month from today our baby girl will be a year old already!! Where did the time go???

So what is our 11 month old Alaina doing these days?

• Eating anything and everything we giver her
  
• Loving her friend Maggie


• Playing in the snow


• Almost walking - walked all the way down the hall tonight!


• Getting into everything she's not supposed to


• Talking... a lot!... although we can't understand anything but DaDa(I'm still her favorite though)


• Barking at Maggie when Maggie barks! It's pretty cute!


• Popping 4 teeth over the past two weeks (yes it's been fun!)


• Reading lots of books... she loves books!


• Dancing and listening to music.. her second favorite!


• Giggling and being a silly


• Being perfect.

Sea Turtle!

Our little Sea Turtle graduated yesterday from her first set of swimming lessons at the YMCA. Next winter she'll be a big Sea Lion!! Watch out! Alaina loved swimming in the pool with Matthew - the only other baby in the class! She learned lots of fun songs, how to kick, kick, kick, scoop, scoop, scoop, how to jump in the pool, climb out of the pool and of course blow bubbles! She doesn't have it all down yet, but she's getting there! She loves to blow bubbles... just not in the water yet! I think she's ready for lots of swimming at grandpa and grandma Mac's cabin this summer! Good Job Alaina, we are sooo proud of you!!

First Airplane Ride!

Alaina took her first airplane ride last Saturday! Grandpa and Grandma Mac took us on our annual family vacation - this year's trip was to Fort Myers Beach, Florida! Alaina did great on both flights to and from... which was what I was most concerned about! But, she did get a cold on the second day of the vacation and popped both eye teeth... which was not fun! For the most part she was very happy, but she had a few crabby nights with not being able to breath through her nose! Other than that we had a great vacation! Alaina LOVES to swim in the pool, she spent about 1 hour a day in the pool! The beach was not her favorite... not sure why?... Maybe she likes to stay clean like her mom and just stay by the pool! ; )

It was a much different vacation for everyone, everything was focused around Alaina! Which is not a bad thing... it was just a little different, not the usual 5-6 hours of laying on a lawn chair in the sun, sipping Margarita's and thinking of what you will order next from the bartender! We were instead planning around naps and who was going to stay in the room for the nap! Then planning dinners out so we didn't have a crabby baby and trying to make sure we were still home within an hour of her normal bedtime! We had a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend an entire week with her!

Alaina's crib was in our bedroom and towards the end of the week, she would wake up and stand up in the crib and say Ma-ma,Da-da! It was soooo cute! She is learning soooo much and getting to be such a big girl! I can't believe she'll be one in two months!

Back to work tomorrow : I'm sure I will be having Alaina withdrawal all week! Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Mac for another great family vacation!

Naughty Maggie!

We've always had two dishwashers in the house... but now Alaina caught on to Maggie's tricks... So, we now have three dishwashers! The door opens and they both come running into the kitchen(well Maggie runs, and Alaina crawls).. Did you say NO, NO?

Can I chew on it then?
