Zoo Day!

We decided we better get our summer trip to the zoo in before our year long membership expires!  Of course we picked a day that was nice and hot - 93 degrees!  We still had a blast even with the sweat dripping off us!  We ended our trip with a fun filled half hour in the splash pad...I was sitting there watching Alaina thinking...hmmm I should just say screw it and start running in it with her!

Party Crashers!

Brian, Alaina and I decided to crash Mike and Sarah's friends' weekend at the cabin last weekend!  With the weather forecast saying 90 degrees all weekend long, we decided there was no better place to be than at the cabin in the lake!  It was a fun weekend for Alaina having to other little kiddos around to play with!  Sage - who is 16 months old, daughter of Nick and Katie Piehl and Will  who is 13 months old and the son of Mike and Laura Harris!  Thanks for letting us come and crash your party Mike and Sarah!  Since we had so much fun, you can count on us crashing it every year! ; )

With the hot and humid weather we've been having, we decided we needed to hit the beach!  We were there by 10am last Sunday!  Alaina was a little nervous about going swimming at first, but after a half hour she warmed up and was a fish in the water!  I think we'll be back real soon, by the looks of the 10 day forecast it is going to be HOT!!

Talking about what were going to do next...lunch on the patio at Muddy Waters, lots of trains to look at!

Sparkly Clean!

If you've ever seen my daddy's truck it is VERY dirty, so I decided it would be fun for me and mommy to get it nice and sparkly for him!  We cleaned it inside and out and oh boy was it disgusting!  At least we can ride it now without being scared to touch anything! 

While mom was finishing up we were having fun swinging away!

4th of July 2011

We had another fun filled 4th of July weekend up north at the cabin!  We spent most of our first day on the dock soaking up the sun.  Saturday morning Jessi, Nick, Auntie Cathy and I ran the Nisswa Firecracker 10K.  It was a great run with a slip n' slide finish and an ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon...What more can you ask for?!  Thank goodness the humidity went down, because I think I almost passed out last year when I ran it!  Although, I don't think I sweated any less...Alaina kept saying you sweaty mommy!  Since this was only the second year of the run and I've done it both years, we decided it has to be annual event!  Lets see if I can keep up my pace year after year, this year I was only 6 seconds slower...The rest of the day was spent soaking up the sun, eating lots of good food and drinking ice cold beverages!  Sunday we returned to the dock for more sun, had an awesome turkey dinner, did sparklers with Alaina and finished the night with a boat ride to Cross Lake to watch the fireworks! On the 4th we decided it was time to do some water sports and take a trip to Zorbaz for some yummy pizza!  It took a little bribing to get Alaina in the boat,  but once she did oh boy did she have a blast! (As you'll see in the photos below!) Alaina was not into swimming in the lake this time, but we think with the help of a few more kids she'll be in the water in no time!  Thanks for the great weekend everyone!  We can't wait for out next trip to the cabin!
