Sunday Scorcher!

In fear that this was going to be our last HOT weekend we decided to do it all this weekend! After a long nap from our morning at the beach we decided to bust out the wiggly worm sprinkler! After some training from mommy and daddy, Alaina was running through it with lots of giggles and smiles!

Life's A Beach!

Alaina had her first trip to the beach today! Since we have an early riser lately, we were there by 9:45 and had the whole beach to ourselves for the first hour! I wish we would have brought her earlier in the summer, she absolutely loved it!

17 Months Old!

Another month (or three as I look back at the blog...oops!) has gone by and I again wonder what happened to the teeny tiny baby that I carried around all last summer...the baby that I am now chasing around all this summer!! It amazes me how much she's learned in the past month! She is saying so many words now! I just wait to hear what she'll say next! Some of the words she says are: hot, bye-bye, quack, hi, da da, momma, Reece, shoes, juice, woof woof, three, moo, more, peas(please) ,and just this week she started saying no, no Magga(Maggie)!

Her favorite activities are running around outside, playing in the garage with daddy, going to the park, swimming, hugging -hitting and sitting on Maggie, playing with markers, reading books, swinging, listening to music, dancing and my favorite - opening drawers and cupboards - removing everything and take off running around the house dropping tampons and pads all over the house for me to later find! :)

She still LOVES her nuk and blanket at nap & bed time. Her hair is getting long, but no haircut yet! We just started putting ponytails in on a daily basis and she is letting me do it without too much of a fight(knock on wood!) Alaina is also down to one nap/day now and she's doing great with that...However, her nightime sleeping habits have been a little bit of a mess for the past month with her molars coming in! She now has 12 teeth and is working on her eye teeth! So, I'm sure we're in for some rough nights in the next couple weeks, as she does not sleep well when teething! Overall she's a happy, healthy, beautiful, energetic, tiring 17 month old baby girl!

First Trip to the MN Zoo!

Alaina had her very first trip to the Zoo today! She loved seeing all the animals, but I think her favorite part was playing in the splash pad at the end of our Zoo visit! It was HOT, so this was the perfect way to cool off before heading home! We now have a 1 year membership and I'm sure we will definitely be back soon!

Candyland!

While waiting to visit baby Eric, we took a little walk around St.Paul looking for snoopy statues...We found several in front of the store Candyland and never made it anywhere else!? If you've never been there, you must go! They have the best popcorn ever and I'm sure the best candy too! Alaina wanted it all..but all she got was some fruit snacks from mommy's purse and her picture taken with the snoopy characters...I know what a mean mom! Next year we'll bring her back for a treat!
